Neighbor gets ultimate revenge on entitled construction workers who constantly break noise rules and steal electricity from his outdoor outlets: 'Cue the whining and complaining'

No one likes the sound of construction in their neighborhood. Sure, it's necessary, but after a long day of work, the last thing you want to come home to is constant hammering and beeping from loud construction equipment. Even worse, when all that noise wakes you up in the morning before you have the chance to snooze your alarm. This guy lives in an area where there are rules for noise. Noise is allowed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and there is no construction or industrial noise on Sundays. Seven in the morning is a little early in our book, especially on a Saturday, but at least a noise ordinance is put in place. That is, it would be nice if these construction workers actually followed the rules. This guy's neighborhood is building a new house right next door to him. Obviously, it's not the ideal place to live during construction, but it's even worse when the workers aren't playing by the rules. So, this guy decided to take matters into his own hands.

    bummer for me seeing construction started on my first day of vacation but whatcanyoudo. Noise hours in my town are from 7AM to 7PM during weekdays. 9AM to 5PM on Saturday and no "construction and or industrial" noises on Sunday.

    Despite this they work 5AM-10PM 7 days a week. The town's doing nothing because the sole inspector is in vacation. Police don't care, anyway were the kind of town police response is measured in days. Neighbors have lodged official complaints. I tried talking with the builders but to no avail.

    breakers are still turned off and will remain so as long as construction is ongoing. They came back with new cords... But no power from my house so they left, having nothing to do. Today I spent my time installing my new security cameras around the house...just in case. Anyway been meaning to do it, we do have serious theft issues around here.

    E_KFCW . 1d ago Had this happen a while back, except it was the neighbor's lawn crew. They used electric weed eaters and would use my outlet as the neighbor didn't have one on that side of the house. They kept tripping the GFCI which was protecting other outlets, which I would find later in the week. They tripped it so many times that they killed the GFCI.

    I replaced it and the outlet cover with one that locked. Stopped having issues and my power bill went down a noticeable amount, so maybe it was more than the weed eater that was being used.

How much fun you could have had, OP, by leaving the breakers on, and them switching them off at random during your vacation. It might have been worth the extra cash to be able to go outside and yell at them for causing your house to short circuit.
